Marvellous Moschino
Founded in 1983 by Franco Moschino, the fashion house became well known for its bold designs and its ability to make fun of the fashion industry, ultimately sending the message that fashion should be enjoyed not dictated by rules or expectations in order to be accepted. A major change for Moschino was when it was taken over by Jeremy Scott in 2013 from Rosella Jardini (Franco Moschino’s former assistant who took over from him after he died in 1994).
This signified a new era for the fashion house, designs were bigger, more elaborate and strikingly original, being driven by Scott’s fearless imagination and drive to make an impact in the fashion world. He created collections dedicated to and inspired by Barbie, Jackie Kennedy, Looney Tunes, traffic wear, flowers and many more to count. Each collection feels fun to watch walk down a runway, and all though not to everyone’s taste, it is well thought out and hidden with intended meaning. Jeremy Scott’s designs represent what creativity should be: free and bursting with character and light.
