About

Hey there (*waves)

You’re here because you’re wanting to know more about me.

I’m here because I love words and what they can do… (I’m also a big fan of commas, aren’t they just the best?)

My name is Alex (she/her) and I am a Melbourne copywriter, media creator and the founder of Media Girl Creative. Pleased to meet you!

I began my career in social media management land where I interned, learned, created, posted, reposted and mastered the art of a great hashtag. #important

Content creation was my main know-how thanks to a brilliant three years at RMIT University, studying a Bachelor of Communications (Media) degree. With a passion for writing waiting patiently in the background…

After university, I launched Media Girl Creative as my freelance business.

This helped me get my start in the media industry and work on a wide range of projects in social media, writing and content creation.

Surprise, surprise I soon discovered how word inclined and eager I was to learn how I could write for a brand, develop their voice and truly connect them to their audience. The art of copywriting fascinated me so I threw myself into it, working to understand how to communicate and convert.

With spark, kindness and clever writing.

Many web pages, EDMs, captions and product descriptions later, my word count is high and copywriting is my jam. Over the course of my career so far I have had the privilege to work with some amazing brands and organisations, including:

Zen HR Consulting

When I’m not writing, you’ll find me reading The Cut, watching a streaming service or checking out a new walking trail. Adorable dogs and crisp greenery included.

Founder of Media Girl Creative + big fan of the comma.

I acknowledge the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation as the traditional owners of the land upon which I work, create and live. I pay my respects to their elders, past, present and emerging, and acknowledge that sovereignty was never ceded. Always was, always will be Aboriginal land.
